Most gaming organizations achieved positive results for the start of the year. Dennis Forst of KeyBanc said that there is a cautious optimism among gaming groups despite the economic crisis.

Harrahs Entertainment has decided to delay the opening of 665 new rooms from their Octavious Tower at Caesars Palace. Harrahs will open the rooms when the demand for it improves.

Aside from celebrating its 'topping off' ceremony, the Ameristar Black Hawk Casino is currently preparing to adopt the changes from the Amendment 50. The changes will take place after July 1st, 2009.

The Seneca Tribe is currently in the middle of pursuing a casino facility in Catskills. Rotate Black Gaming Inc. has already bought land off Route 17 in preparation for this casino plan.

Governor Charlie Christ said that he is disappointed with the slow action of the legislature regarding the Seminole compact. He hopes that there will be some result on the negotiations soon.

Kansas Officials are planning to re-open the casino bid after some developers like the Kansas Entertainment pulled out. Lottery Director Ed Van Petten said that it is very unfortunate.
